Jennifer Estep's Touch of Frost

I don’t do a lot of book promo anymore, but I wanted to tell you guys that I’m going to get this:

The incredibly prolific Jennifer Estep, who first write the Bigtime series, and who next wrote the Elemental Assassin series (which is still ongoing, has a new series out called Mythos Academy. Here’s a link to the series page at Jennifer’s website. Jennifer rocks and I’m going to be getting these just because they sound so fun. Here’s the blurb to the first book, Touch of Frost:

My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy — a school of myths, magic and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody’s head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest.

But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I’m determined to find out who killed Jasmine and why – especially since I should have been the one who died …

I first got to know Jennifer when her first book came out, Karma Girl (here’s a slew of posts), back in my Fantasy Debut days. Jennifer is one of the most successful of the authors I featured back then. It kind of brings a tear to my eye! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! It looks exactly like the kind of book I would enjoy!

Hey, congratulations on having another series out, Jennifer. This sounds like a fun one. I love young adult books and mythology, so the combination is perfect. I know you have a really breezy style in the Bigtown books (Jinx is my favorite) so I guess in retrospect it makes a lot of sense that you’d be drawn to young adult.

  3. Chicory — Thanks! I appreciate that, and I hope you get a chance to check out the book.

I got to meet Jennifer in person at RWA Nationals (after stalking her on Twitter, like any good fan/author) and she is a sweetie! I just read Karma Girl and loved it, so it was really nice to be able to stop by and say hi. The new one is definitely on my TBR list.
    *waves hi to Jennifer*

She is a sweetie! She met me in a bookstore once when I was in her part of the country. We chatted happily about books and writing for an hour or so.

      1. Deborah — It was good meeting you at RWA too. 😉 Glad you enjoyed Karma Girl, and I hope you like Touch of Frost too.

Tia — It was fun. We’ll do it again if you’re ever back this way.

I looked for it at the bookstore today, but the YA section sure is arranged strangely, and I couldn’t find it. Oh, well–I have Amazon Prime. I may as well use it!

    1. Cool. Hope you enjoy it. 😉
